General Tips
- Your Pet Trainer and Close Combat ranks will carry over into the test, so having higher ranks is useful.
- Windmill is extremely useful in defeating enemies quickly.
- Your Song, Harvest Song, and March Song ranks will carry over into the test
- As Harvest Song is not useful for Fynn Bead Burnishing, players should not use the skill for this test.
- To use March Song in order to move faster, you need Song Rank 5 or higher.
- Spending time singing can actually be wasteful, so carefully choose whether this is a good investment of your test time.
- You start with 200,000 Gold, 40 HP & Stamina 300 Potions , one Mysterious Purple Bag (10X17) and 9 Medium-Sized Beginner Bags (5x5 space).
- You may rearrange your inventory, even before starting the Advancement Test, since the placement of your bag windows will remain after each objective.
- Before starting the mission, you cannot drop items, but you can destroy the 9 Medium-sized bags. Do so. Once they are gone, you main inventory window has more than enough space to complete the mission.
- The Purple Bag cannot be destroyed. After the mission commences, you can drop it, but it takes up little space, so keeping it will not cause difficulties.
- You will be asked to complete three objectives. You have 10 minutes. At higher Dan levels, you will need to complete in shorter times to earn bonus points.
- The first objective is to burnish 5 Faded Basic Fynn Beads.
- The second objective is to burnish 3 Faded Intermediate Fynn Beads.
- The third objective is to burnish 1 Faded Advanced Fynn Bead.
- Speak to the Guide to ascertain which particular beads they require.
- The required beads will be shown in a dialog window which you can leave open, to remind yourself which Faded Beads to buy.
- If you do close the notice, you may speak to the Guide to open it again.
- Purchase the required Faded Fynn Beads from the Test Supervisor, using Fynn Gems obtained by defeating enemies:
- All Faded Fynn beads cost 1 Fynn Gem each.
- The enemies in stage 1 provide Fynn gems which can be used to buy Basic beads. You require a minimum of 5 gems.
- The enemies in stage 2 provide Fynn gems which can be used to buy Intermediate beads. You require a minimum of 3 gems.
- The enemies in stage 3 provide Fynn gems which can be used to buy Advanced beads. You require a minimum of 1 gem.
- Enemies will not agro you, so you can safely ignore them when you perform Fynn Bead Burnishing.
- The Test Supervisor also sells HP & Stamina 300 Potions for 5 Gold each.
- When in the mini-game, remember that 1 second will be deducted from the mini-game timer for every wrong key you press.
- This can be used to shave off about 5 seconds per bead (for a total of 45 seconds overall).
