From Mabinogi World Wiki

Hey, welcome to Miyuna's Talk page!

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to type them down here~!

Maybe I'm editting to much, but I feel that some of the things I edit are things I wish wiki had in its records before I faced the actual thing in game. Grammar issues can irritate me a bit.

Signature

Hey there, when you post on a talk page, you can use four swiggles (~~~~) at the end of your comment to sign your name with the date. Putting [[Miyuna]] isn't the correct way to do it because the link does not go to your userpage. This makes it much harder for users to contact you. By the way, feel free to remake your userpage at any time (I'm not exactly sure why it had been deleted in the first place; you have plenty of contributions). --- Angevon (Talk) 23:07, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

Redirects

To make a redirect, type the redirect search into the search bar and search for it. It won't find it, but'll give you the option to make thepage for it. Click the red link to do this, and on the page, type without quotes "#redirect [[Page to redirect to]]" and then save the page. That's all.

Example: Search for "Enchant Order" then make the page for it with only "#redirect [[Enchanting Sequences]]" . If it works, the Preview for it should say that it's a redirect.

Hope this helps. --- Angevon (Talk) 16:37, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, I appreciate it. There are many times I wish some redirects worked in some searches. I'll keep it modest though~! --Miyuna 19:48, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

Current Goal: Making things link together

Thanks to the redirects, I appreciate the ability to link some pages together. I want to take on a personal project and link certain "search" keyword to the specific page. I know there are some unloved pages that when you try to search it, it won't come up. I want to be able to make searching on Mabi wiki easier. If this is not recommended, please admin tell me to stop. I may be worried that linking search pages together may clog up the mabi wiki's database. --Miyuna 20:02, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

How do you search for a redirect page in the normal search bar? A redirect page allows you to have a link go to a section on a page or have incorrectly named links go to the correct page but I don't think it allows you to find a redirect page by searching for it (when using the normal search bar that appears on every wiki page). I'm not an admin and I don't have a problem if you want to continue doing this but I'm not sure if your reason for doing it is correct. Just in case I've misunderstood, please accept my apologies for being dense. --ZRoc (Talk) 17:37, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks! =D Its nice to be noticed... Im usually the quiet one in back makin minor change suggestions, since I dunno how to edit anything yet... --Yuuka 14:00, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

CP

I'm not trying to disprove your theory or anything, but I just wanna point things out.

  1. CP, even though it is "Combat Power".. doesn't necessarily determine how strong you are (rather, how easily you can defeat monsters). That's determined by str (maybe dex.. for range skills? o.o) or int (for magic skills. I think). Luck determines how lucky you are (....yes way.), and will is basically the chances of your surviving from a fatal blow (aka, helps you get in deadly rather than die).
    1. Sure, strength, intelligence, dexterity, lucky, and will do add cp... But cp itself doesn't determine your power (..lmao.. oxymoron much. o.o)
  2. Ranks of skill = how pwnly you are using them. CP = extra stuff you get from ranking them. what I'm trying to say is.. Someone with a lot of cp could have a high ranked skill (lets say..Rank 1 Smash), but a low rank of another skill (lets say.. Rank Novice Windmill), so if they were to use Windmill, they would sucknot do as good, compared to using Smash. So, you could just have had a high rank windmill, and your friend with a lower rank. You should consider factors like these. o.o;
  3. I could be wrong (I'm wrong about most things that I don't use anyways o.o), but I don't think tendering potions weaken you (make you do lower damage), but just increase the uh... Relative CP of a monster (in comparison to your character). By relative CP, I mean "Boss"/"Awful"/normal o-o/"Weak"/"Weakest", and not the actual CP value. Or at least that's what Nexon claims. As in, the way I see it, Tendering Potions don't (technically, logically they probably do) weaken you, but it makes everything else stronger (by "one relative CP level").--Яειм 's Talk 21:09, 17 December 2009 (UTC)
I appreciate your feed back but yes, tender potions only raises monster level, but I got so use to the description "weakening" that I got just use to saying it when it doesn't actually reduce damage. CP isn't a good indication of skill, especially at 1.1k and below, however anything above that usually indicate a high level of stat. It's easy to get 1k+ cp with certain skills but to arrive at something dangerous like 1.3k~1.4k or the unbelievable cp of 1.8k (yes it is possible) contributes to high ranking stats.

But the whole study is done into consideration that having high combat power may not hinder a user's progress at all. Especially if said user has a high combat mastery and strength while training windmill. Of course, there may be people with high cp, who are training windmill but their cp is based off magical stats, so they may not have any considerable strength alone. But if their CP is based off combat, then their high stat (especially if the person has 1k cp) can help contribute to the balance. For example, a person with r1 smash who can one hit kill a zombie can easily set the finish to anyone to finish the zombie right away. As long as their high cp is due to combat and not in magical or range, then it does make training easier. Though having high ranking combat skills with amazing -cp armor (racoon, abysmal, jackal, etc.) is probably the flush in this field of cards. --Miyuna 03:47, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

The mindset behind keeping your CP as low as possible until finished training CP-dependent skills is simple. It is to avoid the need for enchanted items that lower a player's CP. It's common sense that wearing negative-CP gear will make it easier to train, and I've used the same principle on many skills that I've ranked to master. It's very easy to manipulate your own Combat Power using these enchants, but the advice to someone new to the game would still be to train the right skills first.
You are right in your method of thought. It's the course of action that I take frequently. We must assume, however, that the visitors to the Wiki do not have access to -CP gear, therefore reinforcing the need to monitor their Combat Power closely. Imagine, if you would, having a character with no access to gear with a combat power-reducing enchant. This character has rank 4 windmill, but has over 1,100 CP. Without the necessary enchants, this player would be forced to finish their boss kills on mobs of extraordinary power, making it nearly impossible to attain rank 1. Negative CP enchants are still somewhat rare, and in most cases, very expensive. This is the reasoning behind the "Keep your CP low" mentality that most of us still take. -- Jspillers | Talk 18:06, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
You're completely right about having the mindset of low cp for most people, Jspillers, however, I also believe that if you have the -cp equipment, like jackal, or raccoon, abysmal, or the 3-4 -100 cp for headgear, gloves, boots, and body, there's no need to keep your skills relatively low to make one skill easier. If a player has such items, the extra stats he gain from other skills will definitely benefit him. --Miyuna 18:16, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
I agree. Again, though... unless the player has access to these enchants, training will be difficult, if not impossible. For the privileged few that do have these items (myself included), CP is of little importance- unless you train while grinding, in which case having to wear magical clothing rather than armor may be of concern to some. -- Jspillers | Talk 18:22, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
Wearing low -cp gear in casual dungeons is also good, not only for training for proffing. Ever since I have hit near 1.4k cp, things such as Ciar Basic no longer gives my character weapon prof, however wearing -cp gear, even for casual dungeons not also helps me get experience through just casual dungeon, it also helps my weapons gain prof where otherwise, it would just be a waste of durability. Especially when one has Raccoon Cub where my cp drops to 300~400, I can just train off goblins in Ciar Normal. --Miyuna 18:26, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
I'm here to add my insight! While I see your argument, using the same method for the lower CP player is just as effective. Lets say for example, someone with 600 CP and someone with 1100 CP. The one with 1100 CP can use Difficult Armor and drink a Tendering Potion to make Zombies "Boss" level. On the other hand, the one with 600 CP could do the same, except with weaker mobs. 600 CP - 100 CP (Difficult) + Tendering Potion will render all monsters in Rabbie Normal (Except Bats, Mimics, and Rats) or Longa Arrow Dungeon will be "Boss" level. --ZephyreTALK 21:50, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
Ah, 1 cp, that is the dream goal of anyone. With 1 cp, there's not even a need to even use a weapon, just fight to your hearts content. And that is awesomely true. The sad truth about -cp items is that most requires you to be like age 17~20 (as in most clothes), so trying to find a raccoon cub for age 10~13 or even 13~17 can get tricky. --Miyuna 21:59, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

Re: Youtube Videos

Yea anyone can do it. Just don't pick a bad video. It has to have at least medium quality 480p, preferably uploaded as 720p if possible, and represent the skill in question very well. Make sure there aren't too many distractions in the videos or using to many other skills. The shorter the video the better, assuming that the skill is well demonstrated within a short time. If there are no videos, people can make ones that satisfy the wiki's criteria, but right now we don't officially have any.--Hengsheng120·TALKCONTRIBS 18:08, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

RE: "Hey" ~ From: Oneyedog

... I don't think I did anything out of the wiki policy, sorry this was my first time editing, If you could attach that link to the adv magics pages that would be great, I am more to the east so the delay probably is the increased mana effect. If it was in the magics I wouldn't have felt the need to add something about it.

Re:The new package file of g12s2

Well, it's not much more than what others have listed, it's a test server, so you'll eventually see it in a promo with s2 officially comes out. I have the package, but you have to be able to read korean to get the detailed info.--Hengsheng120·TALKCONTRIBS 11:30, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

Well, do you know how to read the numbers in the xml files and how they link to one another? For new skills, if you do not have the skill it requires a bit of critical thinking by watching the videos. Most of the xmls are in english (a lil bit technical for most to search, you need to know the patterns and what each file is for), but the names don't pertain to NA as much as the english txt files. You also may need a pmg viewer to see 3D models, and photo editor to view the DDS (picture) files.--Hengsheng120·TALKCONTRIBS 11:45, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

Ego Quotes

I saw in the ego discussion area that you've joined in on the talk of their personalities. I made an Ego_Quotes page so that people could put quotes of their ego's, so that people might judge for themselves of their personalities and/or whether they would want an ego with that sort of dialogue. =) If you have time could you add some quotes from the ego you have? -- ladywinter ~{talk | contribs}~ 15:05, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

Windmill Train Potion

I don't play on KR test. I found it in itemdb.xml and someone else told me the info to put in. --Jay 00:12, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

Water Cannon Load Time

How long does it take for you to load five charges, from the first keypress to the last click? Time it and let me know what you get. (What rank too?) --Acru 07:12, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

Ah, rank 1 with the upload time of 1.5 seconds per charge. I'll upload a video to demonstrate it soon. --Miyuna 13:53, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
I think he wants you to time it manually client-side (with your own stop watch).--Hengsheng120·TALKCONTRIBS 13:59, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
Ah okay, thanks --Miyuna 14:07, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

Question about edited content

I wanted to know the reason you took out my link. I feel that people should readily have access to research and that placing it with the title is the correct place for it due to the nature of the research. --sorimachi 22:15, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Regarding Sturgeon

Just wondering but you just recently updated the Sturgeon page and I was wondering where you heard from that it can only be caught on Mondays?

Also does the same source also say anything about the other rare fish?

TwiliTerror17:40, 30 July 2011

I'm kind of a third party in this conversation but Mabidata the forums also states this.

Pyro - (Talk)17:55, 30 July 2011

Mabidata is wrong on the days you can catch sturgeon.

People have caught it on other days. Just really rare it seems.

Aubog00719:59, 30 July 2011

I never said they were right or wrong, I'm just saying that may have been were she had gotten that information from.

Pyro - (Talk)20:08, 30 July 2011

I know. Just merely pointing out it wasn't "right"
