Heya, just letting you know I fixed the reference for the Light & Heavy armor upgrade sequences so that your info is properly referenced to your page. ---Angevon 19:15, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks so much, I really appreciate the help from experienced editors; as you can see, I'm far from proficient in wiki language, though I'm learning from others' examples.--Armisael 20:13, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
oooo, good work on the upgrade sequences! ^_^ Would you be willing to do this with clothes as well? Also, I'm excited about your planned work in the ores! -- Ladywinter 20:41, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks! ^_^ I am indeed planning to do a permutation list for clothes as well, though I'm currently more focused on creating a page for gathering skills, including the ore info. --Armisael 20:44, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
Gathering Page
Wow, that's an awesome gathering page you've made. Go ahead and replace the old one. ---Angevon 15:34, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
- Its real nice looking. :3 -Hakumei 20:56, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
New Mining %
Assume (from the old mining % that was on the gathering page) that the actual mining percentage is 75, 15, 5, and 5 for Iron, Copper, Silver, and Gold. Using statistical analysis on your tests, the Pearson's chi-square test as the observed percentages (75, 13.2, 7.5, and 4.1 respectively), I have concluded that the variations in your test is expected for the number that you mined and the expected probabilities, except for silver.
Based on your 838 (total) ores:
- The probability that 13.2% (111 Copper) can occur out of 15% (126) is 63.3%
- The probability that 7.5% (63 Silver) can occur out of 5% (42) is 1.49%
- The probability that 4.1% (34 Gold) can occurs out of 5% (42) is 68.5%
- Null Hypothesis states that in order for a statistic to be accepted (as a different one), the probability of the number observed must be less than 5%.
Thus, there is no statistical difference between the new (copper and gold) mining % than the old ones.
Another words, you did not mine enough (only 34?) to conclude that Gold is 4% rather than 5%. I know, it's hard to do, but please mine 100-200 gold ores before concluding the 1% difference.--Hengsheng120 05:00, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- From what I have retrieved from the files, --Kevin (‧Talk‧) 05:41, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- Copper : 20%
- Silver : 10%
- Gold : 5%
- Iron : everything else.
- Simple mis-communication here: My tests are not completed yet. As stated on my page, as well the discussion for the gathering page, as well as the first footnote ever written on the page, my research is still ongoing. I'm simply keeping track of it as I go. Currently, Lilaznkevin has replaced my ratio statistics with ones taken from a game file (I presume that's what you mean?), which I believe contradict with most users' findings. Once I break the ~100 range for gold ores, I'll be re-posting my statistics, which will by then be far more conclusive than they are now. If nothing else, I can at least confirm Lilaznkevin's findings through in-game testing, if my results do not disprove them.
That Chi-square test is pretty nifty though. I think I'll make good use of it in the future. ^_~ --Armisael 10:31, 30 April 2009 (UTC)- Here's the link if you are interested on probability of statistics and chi-square.--Hengsheng120 21:24, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

Inaccuracy
My apologies for critiquing, but I don't believe those ore percents are accurate. No, I do not have any to offer, therefore you might as well ignore the rest of this statement, but here's the thing. They add up to 100%. Baddddddd. If it were supposed to add up to 100%, then players would get some sort of an ore each time they tried. Clearly, that's not the case. If those were the percents based on the successes, then it seems fairly reasonable, but I found it rather odd to have it have no "gaps", and just plainly added up to 100%. (Wow I'm being ridiculously redundant >.>) That makes sense...right?--♫ѕτя♪ 01:15, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- The ore gathering rates are NOT success rates. They detail the ratio of the type of ore gathered. That section states "the odds of getting x ore from a successful gather." In other words, if you succeed in gathering ore, you have x chance of getting y type of ore.
Also, if you notice just above that section, it explicitly states that the success rate for gathering ore is 50% (60 on wednesday). You seem to have skimmed over an important detail, but I'll consider rewording that section for greater clarity. --Armisael 02:26, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
Large Page
You may want to make some subpages to work with; your user page takes a while to load. Such as User:Armisael/ClothesUpgrades etc. ---Angevon 04:48, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
fossils and dex
Normally, i get around 1 fossil for every ~3 sulfur mining spots i clean out, but when I'm DK with a dex roll(rank f dex skill), i get an average of a bit more than 1 fossil per mining spot. I also have decreased failure rates as a DK. Are you sure that all forms of gathering are unaffected by dex?--Sozen Cratos Focker 19:27, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
