Feral Brown Wolves Despawning?mini

Feral Brown Wolves Despawning?

Collapse

There was a full pack. One minute I went a safe distance to recover and poof, they're all gone!

O_o Please tell me I'm not the only one seeing this...

Not just you. I think it's the monster server acting up, but you never know.

Earlier I was informed by a guild mate that an Ancient Elephant despawned in the middle of battle... but then again ancients are known to despawn.

One minute ago I just Drop Kicked a Feral Brown Wolf and it went poof... and so did the rest of its pack.

Well considering the amount of unkilled things on the beach, i'd say it's the monster server rebooting in order to prevent a massive amount of spawns.

I'm pretty sure there's a maximum limit to how many monsters can appear, and once the body despawns a new monster will appear in place.

yeah that's true, though there is such mobs where you "kill 1, spawn 2"

kinda like...Balrogs.

It only spawns two because the rest despawned due to inactivity. It stops at a certain limit. this is most seen after maintenance.

Except this is not after maintenance. They're just "poofing" for no reason, especially when I'm killing them.

Yes i mean it does that a lot. It happens when a certain area in that map is overspawned and it has to take from other locations.

You know how if you enter an empty area and start killing them, more spawn? I think sometimes the server doesn't realize a player is still training there, thus the enemies poof to go back to the unpopulated state. I've seen it happen with black-tailed mongooses.

So... Is it or is it not a bug? o-o

From what Angevon is saying, it's just a natural monster server behavior to despawn mobs if a player isn't detected.

Now that I think about...I've seen Hobgoblins vanish in Lappa.

So in general, the despawning isn't a bug, but the player detection for respawning is?
