Issues

I was wondering when a maintenance was going to happen, until now I noticed:

-Latency -Lagg -Alarm clock issues -Transportation issues (characters moved back a few meters )

And others.

The server today is absolutely horrid, it's like their hard drive is dying! Which comes to mind... How old is Mabinogi's server hardware? Hard Drives lasts only 3 years, and that's personal use alone, so for server hosting 24/7, hard drives won't last a year! I'm suffering from lag spikes, server stalling, rubberbanding (teleporting backwards) and such from the server.

lol! Hard drives do not die in 3 years...not to mention even nexon has better than average home-use drives. It's a freakin server, not a hard drive that goes into your PC :/

When you buy a computer and use a hard drive, if you usually keep the computer on constantly and use it very often, it will start bottlenecking within 2-3 years. HDDs are physical disks so they have a maximum number of reads and writes until it wears down. This is why we are seeing more transitions to SSD use.

And yet they still will not die in 2-3 years. And at the same time, that'd be a home-use hard drive, not something a huge server is run on.

The lag is not caused by dying hard drives, which I also doubt is occurring. The lag spikes, server stalling, and rubber banding are all the same thing. Afaik, the lag spikes isn't nexon's fault. Someone has actually looked into this issue. Results are somewhere on nexon's forum. With the recent "mass amounts of gold" entering the game, you can probably figure out the problem.

Kevin, with all due respect... There has not been a gold influx on Tarlach, where I reside. Nothing has inflated, in fact- it's deflated.

There is obviously something wrong on Nexon's side. I've never dealt with regular latency to this magnitude. I know it's easy to trust their posts on the "mass amount of gold" blah blah, but I was banned in this last wave. I hadn't done anything, and was obviously unbanned. There's something else going on.

I remember there was a forum sticky on Nexon's site about the latency issue. It's yet to be resolved. My guess? Hardware.

Anyways, I just wanted to be sure this wasn't being blamed on the playerbase. It's not us this time. It's evident. Contrary to what Nexon is saying.
