Gold or all items?

Gold or all items?

Does the potion only increase gold drop or item drop rate as well? --Shadofrak 18:26, 28 January 2011 (PST)

All is increased. While it will also increase rare items to drop, it will also increase the chance that crap or worthless items will drop as well.

When I used it pre-G13 it had absolutely no effect. Or I just had bad luck for 5 hours of testing.

I have a bit of luck. Dragon Fang dropping from Snow Troll is the best one so far.

What I mean is...

My friend got a bunch from the first mystery box event and let me have them. So I used them and compared the drop:kill ratios with the potions to the known ratios I had without them. And it was no different.

Just a bit of bad luck. Though under the effects of the potion, I did notice that monsters were dropping items/gold more often that they were before. Especially crap items. But for rare items, if the drop rate is 0.05% and it doubles to 0.10% or 2% to 4%, it would be hardly noticeable. But for common items such as Fireball Page 5 or 6 from werewolves, I notice they were dropping more often. It's sort of eerie to windmill 5-6 wolves to death and they all drop fireball pages.

What I'm saying is that in terms of statistics, there was no change in the drop rate with at least 95% certainty. This means that no matter how small or large the drop rate should have been, nothing changed.

I am also saying that when I use the potion for myself, numerous times, I notice that more things were dropping.

Were you using them at some point after the first mystery box event?

Tellos12:16, 29 January 2011

Used them every now and then. The Dragon Tooth dropped was part of it, as well as FB 10, and aR 8 as notable drops.

When I say that it had no effect it means something like this:

I kill 1000 of X monster and get 15 of Y item.

I use drop booster.

I kill 700 of X monster and get 11 of Y item.

Through several repetitions of the above cycle with various items, you can determine the boost. I determined the boost was +0%.

This was before G13 though, so they might have fixed it.

Well I need to do a more thorough example but I know that during the effects I got Dragon Tooth. Then when I used it again, AR 8 drop as well as FB 10 another. It was in the first run I ran when I was under its influence. I may have to run it again under its effects.
