Mysterious Crystal Ore Deposit

The ore deposit from Fortinbras mission is on this page. I haven't done the mission in a long time, but if I remember correctly, you gather it with barehands, not a pickaxe. Does the mining skill even effect it? Does it use the Mining skill or just another hidden skill with the same or a different skill icon?

No, you can't gather with bare hands. It uses the mining skill icon. It seems to use the mining skill.

I remember it being gathered with a pickaxe. I haven't ranked the mining skill so I wouldn't be able to tell you if it gets the speed bonus from it though.
