Shades of special colors?

Shades of special colors?

I've been getting yellow and purple hatchets from the hot spring spirit, but their colors are not identical to the ones on the special hatchet page. Are they still the same items, or can there be varying shades of special colors?

Varying shades of special colors are present on some other equipment pages. They're referred to as types. (Type 1, Type 2, etc.)
