Fragment of a discussion from Talk:Holy Flame

You can't apply a holy water of lymilark over an item that's already blessed...

You do realize that this is the Holy Flame discussion page and that blessing was never mentioned once in Kevin's question, right? :/

Sanctifying = using holy flame on an item
Blessing = using holy water of lym. on an item

In a sense, they're the same, just different effects...

Infodude57500:10, 9 July 2012

Um...how exactly are they the same then if they have different effects? One slows down durability loss, while the other promotes it. o-0

Ay, there couldve been a chance that you could sanctify over a sanctified item allowing you to overwrite the previous effect.

Sanctification and blessing work like Enchantment. But with more limitations, apparently.

Wait a minute.

Cannot be stacked with Holy Water of Lymilark.

Does that mean you can't bless a sanctified item at all, or does the blessing just overwrite the effects of the holy flame (and maybe vice-versa)?

Yinato00:29, 9 July 2012

You can't bless a sanctified item at all. And when you attempt to sanctify a blessed item, a warning will appear notifying you that the blessing will be removed.

Disregard that, I was looking for the wrong item.

Like sanctification, you will get a warning before you bless it notifying you that the sanctification will disappear.

Blessing will remove sanctify and sanctify will remove blessing. Just like putting an enchant on an item will overwrite any existing enchant.

So you could just bless a sanctified item and then reapply another holy flame to it if you weren't happy with the first effect as opposed to getting killed and waiting for it to drop then?

Yinato00:38, 9 July 2012

...ohright. LOL.

Thanks :P time to kill some holy water.

No problem. o3o
