Video Policy Infringement

Video Policy Infringement

Just to keep it short, the video (Oh Deer - Crystal Deer Review) does not adhere to the video policy, in that it breaks the standard set of "do not add your own soundtrack". Just a small gripe really. The video does serve a good purpose for now, until someone can create one that more properly adheres to these standards.

I understand the policy, but I don't understand it's purpose. All wiki videos I've made do not include songs, but simply a BGM like those in-game. Why is it wrong to add a fitting BGM to make an informative video more interesting? And of course, people can just mute it if they don't like the BGM.

I'm not saying this against anybody, I just do not agree with the "do not add your own soundtrack" rule.

The music policy for videos was to stop people from posting their Mabinogi music videos with pop music or whatever.

I guess the rule should be modified into "Do not attach songs of personal choice to any embedded videos for wiki, however BGM of "reasonable" choice could still be added."

I was simply listing what is wrong with the video, according to the policy. I personally have nothing against the music (it is not an annoying Anime soundtrack, so it does not personally bother me), but the soundtrack issue is one thing I really nitpick on in videos. The policy is the policy, and it should be followed. In the end, adding any custom soundtracks should not be allowed. It is personal opinion which song or background music is acceptable or not, and that being the case, it is best to leave the music the default in-game music (being default, user opinion on the likability of the music is almost irrelevant), or remove it entirely.
