Update the artifact map?

Update the artifact map?

It's been... a while since the artifact map was updated. most of it hasn't changed, but we have a whole lot of new artifacts to dig up in the north-east half of the map, and well... There's the oasios from Saga in the middle now, making many of the spots (which needed cool wind L-rods) unusable. I've started doing some artifact logging, but it would be nice to get some help. I'll post what I have when I get things edited

Edit: For reference, I have verified every Cobra Stone Statue, Snake Head Door, Giant Stone Statue, Upside-down Fish Statue, Whistling Rock, 1000 xp lost elf and 1500xp lost elf from the old map. They are all still there, however many of the 1500 elves have been covered up by the oasis and are inaccessible, either because you can't use cold wind L-rods there, or because when the coffin appears, you can't click on it because it's buried by a hillside. also, like... 3 of the fish statues need a landmaker, but are outside of the desert proper, where it can't be used

One thing is that we never made the artifact maps to begin with, we sourced them from elsewhere. As far as I know though aside from some things being removed due to additions in certain renewals (Muyu Desert in Rano for example to state something different from yours) the rest of the map hasn't change.

Speaking of landmaker have you been able to use it? I've been hearing about players that can't use it and in my own experience using Stomp as a giant in certain regions will no longer "dig". I'm fairly sure this is an error but I'm not sure of the extent of it.

Well there's a couple whole new(? possibly just undocumented) sets of statues to dig up from about the shylien reserve to the sandworm mark. Also, it occurred to me yesterday that the Eyes of the Sun (near the battle arena) have never actually been on the map.

Yeah, it was working just fine for me a couple days ago when I was checking the fish statues. (Except for a few that aren't in the land-maker-able sand, for some reason, but I'm pretty sure those were always like that.)

I don't recall them replacing the lost elves (removed for exploit), are they back?

Shroom Fonzerelli (talk)13:40, 22 September 2014

When did they remove them? the 1500 xp elves west of the oasis have been my primary source of exploration XP for... as long as I can remember (Though now they multiplied the xp on the cobra stone statues, snake head doors and giant stone statues by 10, so those may become my new source). I recall at one point, right after the Filia rework the quest was not completable, because Castenea was moved into a house (and you can't bring the elves indoors), but they changed it a couple weeks later so that the quest completes at Atrata.

The lost elves were heavily involved in a duplication exploit and were removed from the game. It's possible this was far enough in the past that you either didn't notice, or weren't around yet.

They were exploited and removed? Unless Lucky Gather could be an "exploit", but that's the first I'm hearing them being removed.

Hm, I see. Well that volunteer said the elves were put back...

I must have been on hiatus or something. I totally missed that mess. I've been using the Lost Elves since pretty much from the day they became a thing.
