Support Shot Enhancement
So like, I already posted under reforges about Support Shot's damage enhancement reforge, but I realized something else while looking at the numbers my friend gave me.
Bare Handed Damage Range: 305~463
2661 crit barehanded
876 normal hit barehanded
1007 normal hit barehanded
979 normal hit barehanded
1064 normal hit barehanded
947 normal hit barehanded
2661 crit barehanded
1016 normal hit barehanded
1041 normal hit barehanded
821 normal hit barehanded
These numbers were taken with a Support Shot Enhancement Bohemian Set along with the Master of Support Shot title. Assuming the bonuses all stack additively, the resulting bonus damage should be 225%, or 2.25 in decimal. But with the given numbers, 463 x 2.25 = 1041.75, and he's hitting ~23 more than that. His crits are even higher, ~57 higher than they should be (2661 compared to 2604.375).
So what I did was:
2661 = 2.5(463 x (2 + x)) Where x = the Bohemian Set enhancement.
1064.4 = 463(2 + x)
2.2989 = 2 + x
.2989 = x
It's not an exact number, but I think that the Bohemian Set might give +30% Support Shot melee damage, not 25%. Using +30% instead of +25%, my friend's potential max crit is 2662.25, putting the numbers he gave me inside his damage range.
So unless Balance allows players to hit outside their damage range, I think what I found makes sense, or at least brings up some questions.
Another thing to consider is that the damage bonus you get from stats is added on as a decimal but rounded down in your status display. That means that it's possible for your max damage to be, for example, 100.80 but the max damage will display as 100. With enough multipliers, that extra 0.80 damage may cause you to appear to do more damage than you should.
Also, if you intend to calculate your real max damage by looking at your stats, you should also keep in mind that it's possible for the stats themselves to be decimals as well, due to some talents sometimes giving values like 0.25 per level. Your real stats are also rounded down in the display, so it's really hard to calculate your true damage.
The easiest way to counter this is to just determine what percent error can be considered an acceptable deviation from your expectations. You say your friend's max damage is 463, but for all we know, it could be, at worst, something like 463.99999. This means your true max damage may be off from your assumed max damage by, at worst, nearly 1 max damage, a 1/463, or ~0.22% rate of error. If your actual values during testing are higher than you expected values by about ~0.22% or less, then it is within the expected margin of error.
Even then, using 464 as an example max damage, his max crit damage with bare hands would be 2610. I understand what you're saying about Mabinogi rounding down with listed numbers and such, but I don't think a hidden decimal value is causing this.
