Template talk:In-game book

From Mabinogi World Wiki

The "Effects" isn't lining up properly (ex. The Dunbarton Environs). The "Price" section only sometimes line up (ex. A Campfire Story). Oh heck, even the "Obtained From" is having problems (ex. The Goddess Who Turned into Stone). I tested this on Opera, IE, and Firefox. If someone could fix the code, I'd be grateful. --- Angevon (Talk) 15:31, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

"Tradablilty" parameter changed?

This one isn't working somehow as it's written. Was this updated to "trade"...?

Lt. Jessie11:32, 18 May 2012

What do you mean?

Pyro - (Talk)11:34, 18 May 2012

Tradablilty was changed to Trade I believe

When I use [|tradability=n] for the book parameters, it still comes up as unknown.

Lt. Jessie11:36, 18 May 2012

You have to use |trade=(w/e)

Pyro - (Talk)11:36, 18 May 2012

Might want to have that fixed in the example template then... ^^;;;

Lt. Jessie11:38, 18 May 2012

Well it was just changed. =\ I'll do that.

Pyro - (Talk)11:38, 18 May 2012

I changed it to trade because it's a lot easier to spell.

Angevon (Talk)13:55, 18 May 2012

Ok, just making sure. Also, I was looking at the tags... What does it mean when it's in the "NeedBook" category?

Lt. Jessie14:03, 18 May 2012

Lack of actual link the book material is on I think...

No, it means there isn't the use of Template:Book on the page, something Ikkisuki added.

Considering the overwhelming opposition to Template:Book, the category should be removed or purposed.

TheFarix14:41, 18 May 2012

By purposed you mean? And why? There is literally no harm in having it.

Pyro - (Talk)15:42, 18 May 2012

There is no point in it, and it impends the readers ability to reference the text.

TheFarix17:04, 18 May 2012

It doesn't impede anything. If it is really necessary we can just make the book collapsible and make it hidden be default.

Pyro - (Talk)17:48, 18 May 2012

Actually, it impends the reader because they have to click for more text instead of just scrolling down (which is much much easier). But if you hide it, Then what is the point of the template? Might as well remove it altogether.

TheFarix02:51, 19 May 2012

You aren't providing any real options. 90% of the time removal should never be an option. I refuse to believe there isn't a solution where both of the readers can be happy. How about we just make both of them side by side?

I honestly don't see how Template:Book is helpful in any way. Instead, it just gets in the way for both the editors and readers. And if it is not helpful, it should be deleted.

TheFarix11:52, 19 May 2012

That is purely opinion based.

Pyro - (Talk)12:08, 19 May 2012

It is not a matter of opinion, it is a matter of whether the template is useful. And no one, not even use, has ever explained that the template is useful.
