Talk:Wand Upgrades
Wand upgrades
What's the difference between Mana Evaporation and Mana Consumption? Zelfae
- I'm guessing mana 'evaporation' is the speed it absorbs mana. Lilaznkevin
- Mana Evaporation refers to the loss of MP from changing a weapon while wielding a wand, and Mana Consumption refers to the loss of MP from casting a magic skill.--Uchocobo 22:57, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
- But you lose ALL mana when you change a weapon from a wand, does that mean that if you upgrade Mana Evapouration 3 times, you actually keep 24% of your mana? Is this based off of max mana, or current mana? Zelfae
- Yes, you'd keep 24% if you upgraded a Lightning wand 3 times with the Mana Evaporation upgrade. I believe it's based on your curent mana. However, I prefer mana consumption, so I've never tried mana evap. and don't know for sure. --- Angevon 17:15, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

Upgrades
When do these upgrades come out i have been waiting forever for chaincasting.
Its called patience lol. I'm trying to spam as much thunder as i possible can, so when chain casting 4 is out i can kill all >:3 --Trickybomb 06:05, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
- Hate to break it to you, but the chaincasting for wands will only work for bolt spells from what i am hearing. So all advanced magic is still slow --TGFL
Chaincasting
What does Chaincasting+N mean?
- Do you mean what the N means? It's the number of extra charges your chaincasting gives. Like Icebolt with chaincasting +1 gives two bolts in one cast. ---Angevon
does annyone know what generation these upgrades come out? i just want a general idea of how long i have 2 w8Sozen Cratos Focker 01:28, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
For the Chaincasting upgrade, does the increased mana amount apply to the first bolt and give the other bolts as free, or does it total the amount of mana needed, then multiply the the percentile.
For example, on an Ice wand with Chaincasting +4, which adds +30% mana consumption, do five icebolts only cost 4 mana (@rank1) +30% to total about 5 mana for five icebolts? Or does it cost the total charge amount plus the additional cost of 30%? Like, (4+4+4+4+3)x 1.3 = ~25 mana for 5 icebolts? - Sogard6 Mana Cost: Total cost for 5 icebolts (or however many charges for whatever bolt) * 130% (or whatever increased percentage)Phanterz 12:43, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
% Mana reduction question
Suppose you upgrade for -5% Mana Reduction 4 times. Is it counted as -20% Mana Reduction (all percentages subtract off the original) or -5% of the 95% from the first upgrade, then -5% from the second upgrade's mana cost, etc.? Phanterz 12:44, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
- IIRC they subtract off the original. You'd get 20% reduction. ---Angevon 16:36, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
Mana Consumption
Does the increased mana consumption that comes with chaincasting affect all spells casted with that wand? Or only basic magic spells (not fireball/thunder/ice spear)? ---Compwiz 7:59, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
- It's for all spells that you cast with the wand. Example: I personally have an Ice Wand that I upgraded with mana consumption -6%. I cast firebolt with it and the cost of casting that firebolt was less than normal. I have to test it a little more, but I'm pretty sure that's the generalization.--Demaetri 02:25, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
- I think it's not for all the spells. My point being my mana reduced by 105 after casting a full thunder. My lightning wand with which I casted the spell has -12% mana consumption, does anyone else experience this? I am elf and normally casting it would take me 109.6 mana, and the mana cost should be lower than 100 with my wand upgraded, however, it is not when I cast thunder.--Leyuu 12:01, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
