Talk:Tower Cylinder

From Mabinogi World Wiki

I've only tested this on an elf character, but movement speed goes down with the tower cylinder in main slot (Out). Can anyone confirm how much movement speed/if it work on other characters? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rydie (talkcontribs) . It was bug. It fixed. --Juff 15:02, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

Does this offer increased damage at all? Anyone know? Edetha 07:32, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Yes. It gives increased range (about 180% of the alchemy skill you're using) and increased damage, but I'm not sure how much. IHarryl 07:48, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
There is a roughly 2x damage increase when the text "You must talk to someone who invented this cylinder" (To that effect) disappears; r1 Water Cannon, r9 Alchemy Mastery did 140some with a regular cylinder at far range and 270some with a tower at far(ther) range. --Ashsaber 09:52, 4 December 2010 (PST)

Something i was wondering, when using a tower cylinder do you still pay stamina costs for your alchemy skills along with the stamina drain? Also are you able to charge skills like water cannon while mounted? --Bryanneo 19:53, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Alchemy skills must still be payed for normaly in addition to the drain, and only projectile type alchemy skills can be used (you can't use spark or summon golem for example). In order to use it at all you have to set it up using install cylinder. Tellos 20:00, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Ok after using it, there is no drain at all but you do pay extra stamina using alchemy. Truthfully i prefer that over a stamina drain going on. --Bryanneo 22:57, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

Accuracy

Can you miss? Like in a first person shooter, and you fire and miss?--Claypot19 18:06, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

No, I think they removed that feature in G12 Beta on KR test due to a massive bug. If you didn't have "Install Cylinder" set to a fkey, you would be stuck in Install cylinder mode permanantly. Logging out would cause a hard crash to the client. It was just asthetic, and you couldn't actualy miss. You can turn the cylinder by the mouse left and right and using ctrl+click would snap you to the targeted enemy. If I remember correctly it defaults to Water Cannon when you try to attack. But I haven't used a tower cylinder in a while. Tellos 18:09, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
First-person mode still exist. However, it automatically targets the nearest enemy, so there is no way to miss. Fallenone 20:58, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
If you simply click while using a Tower Cylinder, it will use the last alchemy skill you used while in Setup mode, if that sill is available.Th3Evil5Ponge 18:07, 25 October 2010 (PDT)

Rafting/Ballooning With Tower Cylinder

Anyone ever hear of someone trying to use a tower cylinder on a raft or even a Balloon? I randomly thought about it, but I'm not sure if the raft would allow you to install a cylinder onto it.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Koriken (talkcontribs) . I just tried to do with with my friend. It says "it is too unstable to install a cylinder" on the raft. --Dias 22:38, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

Who invented the Tower Cylinder?

"You may be able to use this more effectively if you talk to the alchemist who invented the Tower Cylinder." What does this mean? It says this on the item itself and when you install it. --Dias 21:59, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

Not sure I spoke with Heledd, Dorren and Eabha. I equipped it, unequipped it, talked to them with all the chat options and nothing. --Bryanneo 22:58, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

I think it was in G12 mission General Offensive. Not completely sure. Fallenone 23:01, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

We wont be able to tell then until they fix the quests. We'll have to see --Bryanneo 23:04, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

The Tower Cylinder gets more powerful after you are given one by Lennox at the beginning of the All Out Attack! quest as part of G12. Might be a good idea to add this to the page. Pokey 17:10, 25 October 2010 (PDT)

Anyone getting this interesting bonus?

Using Flame Burst with a tower cylinder, the width of it seems to have expanded quited an amount, like a fan shape. --Bryanneo 01:15, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

But why do I only hit them once?!--Dra6o0n 01:53, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
It is already on the page. "Greatly increases the range and power of alchemy skills. " Fallenone 02:29, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

If range meant width wise as well, then okay --Bryanneo 02:35, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

Setup Indoors

Is it possible to setup the tower cylinder inside a Dungeon or a Tara Rath Castle Shadow Missions?? SoraHikari 02:37, 21 October 2010 (UTC) Not sure in a dungeon but most likely, you can set it up inside the castle but not the entrance part for some reason (the big hallway with doors to the guild hall, and the 2nd floor castle). --Bryanneo 02:50, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

Advanced Magic crystals

Something interesting, if you load an advanced magic crystal (Fireball, Ice Spear, Thunder) into your tower cylinder, it will work better (more damage) and you get MUCH greater range out of it.

Ego Tower Cylinder Range

Does it get a range boost too? It's a pain to make one myself to find out, curious if anybody knows.

Zeplic (talk)18:16, 12 February 2016

Cylinder range isn't weapon based, so probably not.

I assumed the same. But i feel like its something that should be confirmed no? I like to raft with my tower cylinder. Its why the idea is coming to mind

But considering that the tower cylinder DOES have a range bonus over other cylinders.. is it entirely impossible?

Zeplic (talk)08:43, 13 February 2016

Guard Cylinder

If the Tower is one-handed, can you use it with a Guard?

Infodude575 (talk)22:58, 16 September 2013

Nope, which also means its impossible to use Elemental Wave and Golden Time with Tower Cylinders. . .

Damage Boost? (%)

By exactly what percentage does the tower cylinder increse Alchemy damage? Does the boost also vary depending on the skill used?

Th3Evil5Ponge17:51, 31 October 2010

I've noticed between 1.8 ~ 2x more damage. The same applied to Adv magic crystals. This was with Water Cannon, Flame Burst, and Heat Buster.

Kendoza16:11, 21 December 2010

Was that before or after talking to Lennox?

Pyrus17:53, 15 May 2011

After. There is no damage increase before Lennox at least none I have noticed. Just a range increase.

Kendoza06:47, 19 May 2011

Someone on Mabintion suggests they receive 50% to all elements. Can an Alchemist look into this?

Pyro - (Talk)13:16, 21 August 2013

shouldn't it be that of bare hands since your normal attacks are with barehand, aren't they?

Tower Cylinder Speed: 3-Hit Normal.
Bare Hand Speed: 3-Hit Normal.

Stun duration is based on the number of hits and the speed. So yes, Tower Cylinder's stun time is that of Bare Hands.

Infodude57519:27, 17 July 2012

so whyy... does it saaaay... 2.09 sec.....

and the rest of the cylinders, too, do not match stun vs hits.

Heat Buster

When using heat buster, I find I occasionally end up being pushed back(only once until I reset the tower however). I'm not quite show how exactly it works, since it doesn't always push you back, and if it does, you don't always move back the full distance. Anyone care to look into this for me?

Memoris03:40, 7 April 2012

I haven't ever been pushed back when using a tower cylinder under normal conditions. If there's latency though then it might move me to where the server says I am.

Bonus from All Out Attack

A lot of places say you get a "bonus" to using your tower cylinder by talking to Lennox in the all out attack g11 mission. I've been looking all over the place trying to figure out what this bonus is. I checked this page, I checked the page for all out attack, I've checked Lennox's page... anyone know what the bonus is? And if so, can anyone put it somewhere?

--Felynne 17:46, 18 January 2012 (UTC)

Felynne09:46, 18 January 2012

80% range bonus and about a 50% boost on alchemy attacks. The Tower Cylinder page has it listed in the little info box.

Edit: I'm pretty sure that's G12...not G11. just clearing things up.

Mikaya09:50, 18 January 2012

Added the info to the pages regarding this massive weapon. should be fine now.

Mikaya10:02, 18 January 2012

This is a rather silly question, but: Are there any upgrades for this weapon?
