Upgrades

Endelyon can Upgrade Sickles.

I can only see the first upgrade, while the other 2 are '???', but the first one, costing 14 prof, and 700 gold gives an increased collection speed, with an increased repair cost. Available 0~3.

Either way, my concern is...we should probably list upgrades that are important to the tool.

No one uses sickles as weapons, therefore, there is little reason to list upgrades that act as if it is a weapon. (Elen&Ederns upgrades).

The only one that is actually important is Hilt Change, for a +10 Durability.

Even so, if we keep all of Elen and Ederns upgrades on there, there still needs to be information added for Endelyon and whatever else NPC (probably Kristell, maybe Comgan, etc.) that upgrade the sickle. This should go for other tool items too, including Gathering Knifes and whatnot. ~Rusty~

Added Endelyon's upgrades. I also checked many other npc's in all other towns including Vales and Filia. It seems Endelyon is the only one that can give it the useful upgrades. Just a note, without going in-game to double check, I think each "Hilt Polishing" takes off about half a slice. -- Saphryu 23:17, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Ah, I see. Well, if Endelyons the only one, it's still useful to have it here.

As for the upgrades, I have 3 Hilt Polishings on my Sickle so far, and it gets 3 cuts (3 cutting motions, 3 slicing noises) before it's done. It gets about a quarter into the animation for the 4th cut. I've noticed other players take well over 4 cuts to get barley/wheat. I'm going to go with 4 Hilt and 1 Blade polishing. I assume blade polishing greatly increases gathering speed, like it does for gathering knifes. Can't wait to see how fast it is. :x ~Rusty~

I'm pretty sure the original amount of cuts is 5. My sickle has 4 Hilt Polishings and does 3 cuts. It stops somewhere during the 3rd cut. Taking those into account, that's how I figured each Hilt Polishing takes off about half a cut. I guess it should be timed, though. Just thought I'd give people an idea of the advantages. I'll try to get an idea of the repair costs on another sickle as I upgrade it. My current one I'd always repair at Ferghus because he's nearby, so the durability has gotten low, making it almost useless now. -- Saphryu 00:39, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Apparently it counts as one. Though I have no idea if they're affected by Sword Mastery, I was able to shear paper sheep with a sickle.

That's /blade/steel/ you're looking at, not /sword/.

Err what?

A weapon does not have to qualify as a sword in order to be able to shear.

Oh...

So then how does it go on the page then?
