Talk:Muramasa

From Mabinogi World Wiki

Msecond chart

the second chart is needed because the first chart is wrong and incomplete. read it before undoing my update. La3

Then edit the first chart or talk here on the talk page. Making a completely new chart makes it dirty and unkempt and makes the other pages lose conformity. Also posting an image of your spirit weapon is nothing more than "personal fame" is also unnecessary. --Miyuna 14:45, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
Also your weapon isn't even a Muramasa! A muramasa is a one-handed japanese weapon. Your weapon is a Masamune! Infact, go to the Masamune Page and look at the spirit stats! --Miyuna 14:47, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
Hey, could you take your message off of the main page for this weapon. It doesn't fit well on the page and honestly belongs here on the talk page...... --Haven923 15:27, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

Murasama? O_o

This isn't called Murasama, it's Muramasa >_> Can someone fix this up? I... don't know how. --Mystickskye 13:45, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

Sorry about the naming. I'll fix it up, but do the pictures really need to be renamed? Because if i do ill have to upload new files and the old ones will still remain on wiki. Just thought that'd be kinda a waste... =/ ~Lloyd 15:33, 8 May 2009 (EST)
Uh... my issue was solely with the page name. That was fixed shortly after I made that post o_o --Mystickskye 03:15, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

As for the pictures... the top picture isn't a Muramasa at all. It's an un-sheathed japanese sword, an entirely different weapon. A japanese sword is a straight blade, like a Tachi. The Muramasa is curved (note the picture of the sheath) like a Katana. --Tamino

That's not true. I'm holding one of each and they're exactly the same when you equip them side by side. Not one of them is near perfectly straight.--Lamm 22:24, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
Confirmed, the top is not a Muramasa, nor is it a Japanese One-Handed Sword. It is infact a sword that hasn't been released in NA as of yet. I'll see if I can update the pictures. --Sanity 18:43, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
Isn't a Muramasa just a glorified Japanese One-Handed Sword? Then in the same case, a Masamune is a glorified Japanese Twin Twin Sword, and a Dragon Blade is a glorified claymore. --Miyuna 21:05, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
Actually Muramasa was one of the greatest swordsmith in history, and Masamune is considered to be the very best swordsmith in history. Even though they made many different swords, the swords are usually refered to as a Masamune or Muramasa (and no, Muramasa did not only make large swords that can only be held with two hands, though the way the swords were held and swung requires two hands.. It's actually quite interesting if you care to look it up. :p) --Sanity 00:11, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
An interesting history, thank you for sharing. However, wouldn't a Japanese One-Handed sword be better than a Muramasa? Well even upgrade wise, they are very similar, however, a blacksmith Japanese One-Handed sword tends to have much better durability than the Muramasa. Unfortunate that Muramasa can't be blacksmithed, so its uses are only for cosmetics, huh? --Miyuna 04:02, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
Yes, the Muramasa, mabinogi speaking wise, is a decor weapon. It lacks compared to a blacksmithed japanese one-handed sword in everything except critical, price, rareness, and (in my opinion) looks. I've found muramasas are most commonly used as ego weapons or for decoration purposes, mostly due to their price and low durability. --Sanity 22:04, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
It also is the only human weapon capable of getting splash damage 105% with upgrades, but i don't think anyone uses it for that.--Sozen Cratos Focker 00:44, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

So if it's 1 Handed...

So.. since it's 1 handed can it be dual wielded? RydiaFromFF2 02:05, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

yes, if you're human.--Sozen Cratos Focker 02:34, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Wooo... Makes me wanna go hunt a few down /gg XD RydiaFromFF2 04:34, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Pictures

Well, the wielding picture looks fine but it seems to be too far out close. I think a close up would be better. As for the sheath, the old one looks better. The person who took the screenshot of the muramasa sheath looks too far away to admire any of the prominent detail. I suggest the sheath picture be replace with the old one or a new one is taken with an upclose shot of it. --Miyuna 16:44, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

I'll work on getting zoomed in shots of the pictures. --Sanity 21:17, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
Took entirely new pictures, much better quality and show all of Muramasa's beautiful detail. --Sanity 22:14, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
You did an excellent job, thank you. --Miyuna 13:58, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

About the Updated Pictures

Hey, I was thinking... maybe this might be a bit messy but, taking a new "sheath picture" to match the current look of the Muramasa in-game. Not just the Muramasa but for all Japanese weapons. The old sheath pose is old and it might be a good idea to take a picture of the new one. --Miyuna 14:30, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

If the pose changed, then we definitely need a new picture. And maybe we should leave the old one at the bottom somewhere for reference.--Sozen Cratos Focker 22:08, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
