If o2d1 (2 3 4 etc) is played it's a different sound than regular notes. Appears to be the only note that has this effect. Also applies to large drums though it's not as noticeable. EDIT:zzz Actually not o2d1. I'll have to find it again. I don't remember which one it was now.
EDIT2: The note is o2d+ it's a unique note on large drums, cymbals and small drums(?).
