This gives 6700 exp on completion (13400 for merchants), but I have no idea how to add that into the table.

Go to the data template (the edit button to go to the template is under the item's name in the tailoring details table) and add a "|TailoringExp=6700" line to it (I already did this though)

Thanks for telling me this. There's probably a place on the wiki where I can learn these things, isn't there?
