Accelerated Durability Eating?

A guildmate of mine said that bash seem to be eating his dagger's durability very rapidly. When I went and gone train bash, I was shocked to find to see the "Mace is losing durability" message flash on my screen and sure enough, my mace (which is blessed) is near broken (or am I just being stupid because I can't remember what durability my mace was at before I started training). Does bash really do this and if it does, can someone add it to the wiki page?

Dias (talk)14:25, 22 April 2015

A blessed melee weapon would take 0.0005 ~ 0.015 durability per hit. It would take between 67 ~ 2000 hits for one durability to be gone. It might just be Bash being insanely fast.

Infodude575 (talk)14:30, 22 April 2015

Bash definitely increases durability loss, far faster than normal attacks do. Using slow 2-hit weapons with Bash and only doing the normal Bash attacks (no double-hit), durability loss is way faster than just using normal attacks at the same speed. I'll try to get some actual numbers later once some things are fixed.

Rydian (talk)07:59, 26 April 2015

Alright, got impatient and grabbed the durability numbers out of RAM. Bash seems to always use the max value for melee attack (-0.015). I tested with a 2-hander and with 2 1-handed swords to see if that made a difference but nope. Will add the info to the page now.

Rydian (talk)09:25, 26 April 2015

Might be intended, given that Bash was meant to be used with the Celtic Royal Knight Swords which have durability reduction set effect. (Totally not because Bash is OP)

Also, let's not forget that KR's been throwing bug fixes all around since Renovation, so if it were bugged they would have already fixed it by then.

Infodude575 (talk)10:28, 26 April 2015

Did some testing myself. Used two blessed Fomor daggers, and used up 1 dura point on each, one with bash and one with normal attacks. The one I used normal attacks with ended up with exactly 3x the proficiency of the one I solely used bash with. Also felt like it took about 3x longer to drain the 1 dura with normal attacks.

Double Bash w/ Very Slow

Is it really not possible? I saw someone doing it with a Demonic Death Penalty Blade, which is a Very Slow weapon.

Infodude575 (talk)10:50, 25 May 2015

Allow me to be perplexed. I changed this a while ago after someone proved me wrong. Its just that the time window is at the end of the zone, and becomes exceedingly difficult to do for very slow weapons. Its not impossible, but it might as well be for folks who's lag isn't optimal, or in the case that more lag actually can allow the window to expand, too optimal.

Bash is effective against Lycanthropes! update page and lycan tips?

Subject says it all: been testing it on them and currently an un-interrupted bash can kill then easily.

Willalhj (talk)14:59, 23 April 2015

The initial purpose of Bash was to make it a boss killer. Combat tips don't belong on skill pages, they belong on monster pages.

Infodude575 (talk)15:39, 23 April 2015

meant to put this on the lycan page, whoops.

Willalhj (talk)18:09, 23 April 2015

And furthermore, of course bash works, because it doesn't knock them down.

Bash Against X

Edited by another user.
Last edit: 11:51, 25 April 2015

So far I've Tested Bash against:

  • Heavy Stander: Affects the stun like a normal attack, two consecutive pings against bash can interrupt
  • Advanced Heavy Stander: No Stun
  • Intuitive Reaction (MORE TESTING, SHRIEKERS ARE THE SUBJECT): Bypasses it
  • Normal Attack : Interrupts Bash
  • Smash : Unsure, It seems to normally interrupt however.
  • Defense : Untested
  • Windmill : Windmill is odd. Bash can hit through it, but its only if the monster for some reason cannot execute it, otherwise when attempting to even get in bash range, I've been windmilled exceedingly quick.
Surrept (talk)10:35, 25 April 2015
  • Heavy Stander/Auto Defense is a bit difficult one. The AI might be derpy and not retaliate at all. I've constantly whacked some pinging mobs and they sometimes stand there like an idiot, not to mention they don't delay my character at all.
  • Instinctive Reaction: Dark Commander (Rank 1) didn't retaliate.
  • Bash pierces Defense.
  • If Bash doesn't pierce Counterattack, it can be safe to assume that it doesn't pierce Lance Counter and Counter Punch either.
Infodude575 (talk)11:56, 25 April 2015

About Counterattack, I tested this against the zombies in Their Method and sure enough, I got damaged by using Bash against it.

Two things: No mention of bash infinitely linking into itself, and about slow weapons

The page doesn't mention the infinite combo, so I'll throw a bit about it into there. Secondly, I just tested the doublehit with my slow francisca and battleswords, both single and dual-wielded. Both could doublehit and infinite just fine, but my very slow Dragon Blade failed to link. When I put on my Chinese Dragon set, nothing about the timing of the francisca and battleswords, dual-wielded or otherwise, changed, but the dragon blade still refused to link. Xaishen (talk)

Xaishen (talk)21:41, 23 April 2015

First of all, keep in mind that Bash is fairly new. Second, I tested both a Fomor Warhammer and a Fomor Francisca myself, both slow weapons while naked and Rank 8 Bash, neither were able to double hit. Thirdly, the "infinite combo" doesn't require double hitting; it's because Bash is incredibly fast and it has no cooldown, combined with its long stun makes the opponent incredibly vulnerable.

Infodude575 (talk)23:09, 23 April 2015

Spamming bash on cooldown and infinitely double linking are different in what they accomplish. The double link yields much higher damage output and will be superior whenever not trying to get training counts as fast as possible. I'll revise. Xaishen (talk)

Xaishen (talk)07:05, 24 April 2015

In any case, I'm not getting the double hit on my two slow weapons at all. Are you absolutely sure you aren't just linking to a standard normal attack?

Either that or it's possible but significantly harder to do.

Infodude575 (talk)11:20, 24 April 2015

The timing is strict but it's entirely doable. A fighting game player with experience linking a tight combo would be able to catch onto it rather easily. The trick is not to mash click but to time it. You'll never link it by mashing the mouse button. I'll post a link to a video somewhere if my toaster will allow it. It definitely isn't a normal attack; dual-wielding makes the animation difference very distinguishable.

EDIT: The webM can be found at the website WebmUp with the video id 00795. Copypaste it after the first forward slash in the url, like webmup(dot)com/xxxxxx. The video demonstrates rank 6 but rank has no effect on being able to combo bash.

Xaishen (talk)00:57, 25 April 2015

I see. I've already heard others claim slow speed is possible (along with some people doubting its existence).

After trial and error I managed to pull it off. However, that incredible difficulty and precise timing is too important of a detail to leave unmentioned.

Auto Defense

Is it me or is my character not stunned at all on melee ping? I mean, while the enemy can still move and react when they ping, my character is still capable of bashing their head in relentlessly.

Infodude575 (talk)14:33, 22 April 2015

3: Shadow Mission, "Raging Warrior", beat Bash using guy. Didn't check difficulty and other mechanics.
4: Talk to warrior go to Soul Stream for Shadow Mission, "Learn Bash", talk to Nao for very little dialogue.

Pretty anticlimactic...

Infodude575 (talk)13:17, 22 April 2015

So I'm hearing around that NA immediately got the OP version of Bash:

  • Damage and duration increased.
  • Cooldown and Knockdown Gauge contribution(?) decreased.
  • Combo no longer resets for switching targets; switching weapons still applies.
Infodude575 (talk)10:24, 22 April 2015

Yep. We did. Updating page.

Surrept (talk)10:43, 22 April 2015

OTL.
