Forum - Real-time Mabi server status

[#17]

With Nexon's blessing, MWW and company has been working behind the scenes to bring you a special treat: real time, accurate Mabinogi server status including channel occupancy just like in game! (Well, better than in game!)

For now you can access this here but I will be integrating it into HTML hooks (like the weather widgets and timers have) relatively soon.

This system does need to be manually logged in after maintenance so there may be some down time after then, but it will fall back to the traditional ping values like the original automated server status script had. The ping values shown are from our server in Fremont, CA to Nexon so they're pretty good. That also means if they're ever slow you know something's wrong...

Perhaps as one can expect much of the work for this was done by the original script's author, Xcelled, and the UI design was done by Yai.

The API is free for other developers to use but we cannot release any of the backend code, of course. However I will wait on documenting the API until it's properly on the new front page here.

I'm glad we finally got this done :) It's only been what... 2 and a half years in the making? Guess I kinda let time get away from me. Whoops. Hope it's useful :D

What happened to server load?

If server load ever doesn't show up, something crashed (usually due to maintenance). It just has to be restarted manually after. Specifically I think there was a login server hiccup yesterday. For now Xcelled is watching it and reacting manually too but over time we'll make the system more responsive.

Also thanks Zeplic!
