Mabinogi, although free to play, provides value-added services that people can purchase individually in order to improve the overall game experience.

Service Breakdown

The Japanese and North American versions allows anyone to play G1 for free; the North American version now includes G2 and G3, transformations, and talking to Spirit Weapons for free too, as of the Iria patch. All other regions require any one of the services to be purchased in order to access any of the mainstream storylines (G1 through G3, G8), perform Transformations, talking to Spirit Weapons, holding shops, etc.

The Korean version ended all Premium Services as of August 1, 2008, This means that the Korean section below in the chart is invalid, and will simply be kept for reference.

Nexon North America announced that they implemented A new Premium Service model for Mabinogi after the update for Generation 15: Merchant of Venice. The chart below applies to North America's new G15 update.

Game Play Services (G15)

As of the update of Generation 15: Merchant of Venice, Nexon North America announced that a new Mabinogi Premium Service was in effect. This wiped out the old packages, and replaced it with three levels of new Mabinogi Premium Service:

• Mabinogi Premium Service: 10,900 NX
• Mabinogi VIP Service: 14,900 NX

As of Generation 9: The Alchemist, the Advanced Play Item System, Nao's Revival Service, Emergency Escape Bomb has been discontinued from Mabinogi's Premium Cash Shop. As of G9, they have replaced the old service with the Mabinogi Premium Service Package. This package includes:

Korea-specific

As of August 1, 2008, the South Korean version of the game has terminated all Premium Services, with the game's 2-hour time limit per day for non-paying users removed. To replace the services, two packages have been released: the Inventoryplus Kit and the Mabinogi Premium Pack. As a result of this change, any feature related to Mainstream Quests or Spirit Weapons is no longer dependent on whether the user has Premium Services.

The Inventoryplus Kit is available at 1,400 won ($1.13) for 7 days (not currently available) or 5,500 Won ($4.43) for 30 days. It is much like the old Extra Storage Service, containing the following features:

• Double the Bank Inventory
• Ability to Share Bank Inventory between Characters on the Same Account
• Personal Shop and Brownies usable
• Item Bag usable

The Mabinogi Premium Pack is available at 2,500 won ($2.01) for 7 days (not currently available), 9,900 Won ($7.97) for 30 days, or 25,000 won ($20.13) for 90 days (not currently available). Its features include that of the Inventoryplus Kit's, as well as:

• Guild Creation & Administration
• Housing
• Nao's Birthday Presents
• Nao's Birthday Presents for 20 Year-Old Characters
• Premium Gestures
• Additional Battle EXP Bonus (+10%)
• No Camping Penalty
• No EXP Loss via Revive in Town
• Daily advanced items

Nao Revives are now offered as Nao Soulstones, purchasable through the Item Shop. Three are provided for free upon creation of a new character. These cannot be traded.

Players are no longer able to skip G2.

Character System 2.0

Along with the termination of Premium Services, the Character System has been revised. Originally, rebirths used to be allowed only once every three weeks. Now it is possible to rebirth once per week. Free rebirths are also allowed once the character has reached age 20, but the character's looks cannot be changed, and the location the character was originally at will remain the same (e.g., unable to meet Tin).

These changes apply only to player characters (Human, Elf, Giant), and not to pets.

Also, leveling requirements were adjusted so that leveling is approximately 2.5x faster than it used to be.

North America-specific

On February 8, 2010, Nexon North America announced that a major revamp of the premium services system would be taking place, outlining the changes in a Notice. Essentially, the new system works like Korea's system (see the section above) except that there is only one service, called the "Premium Service", which encompasses all of the features of Korea's "Inventoryplus Kit" and "Premium Pack", except for the daily advanced items.

The Premium Service is now available. Its price has been set at 10,900NX for one month, or 1,800NX for one day. Please refer to the chart and description above for the new services provided

Japan-Specific

Upon implementation of G9, free rebirths are offered like in the Korean server. However, it is not based on the character's age. Instead, the rebirth becomes available 42 days (6 weeks) after the character's previous rebirth.

Additionally, a paid rebirth card may be used every two weeks, as opposed to Korea's every single week.

Services are required to do G2 and G3 mainstream scenarios and to talk to your Spirit Weapon. G1, G7, and beyond do not require service.
