RP 4 Claimh Solas

RP 4 Claimh Solas

If the NPC approaches Claimh Solas, the boss will generally spam its AoE slam attack. If you stand back and use Magnum Shot, you can avoid taking damage.

Can we get a more detailed explanation on how to deal with Claimh Solas in this RP? The NPC doppleganger of your character cannot pull the aggro of Claimh Solas the moment you target the boss with Magnum Shot/other skills. He targets you immediately and Dragon Dashes his way to you if you target him from afar, even if you're targetting him from far out of range. Because of recovery times from being stunned, you generally do not have much if any time to use potions if he barrels you down, especially if he corners you on a building. Trying to close-combat him seems to be a suicide mission since Jenna isn't strong enough to do a significant amount, and he life drains on you when given the opportunity.

The general strategies such as knock-down skills like Windmill and group spamming aren't possible since you are essentially alone, and Jenna's Windmill doesn't seem to effect any knockback.

What I do is go near a tree and spam magnum shot. It seems as if his dash has a very large width range and you can be behind a tree and he will keep trying to charge, but he can't. If you angle yourself right you can just keep spamming mag while he stand there.

Melee works perfectly fine. Don't attack him from the edge of his hitbox, instead get up close and personal, standing slightly behind him but still on top of his model. Since you're behind him, his life drain and dash attack will not hit you. Unlike most monsters, he actually has an animation for turning around which wastes his time and let's you whack him more during it. Any time he turns to face you, move straight through him to get behind him again. If he does his AoE attack, ignore it and keep attacking. You should have enough potions to kill him before you run out from getting hit by the AoE.
