Can't access his secret shop215:20, 20 November 2012

"Spoilers"

Regarding this juicy gem:

Stewart had also obtained the Dark Knight transformation through experimentation. However, due to a disarm accident with the Armor of Darkness, the armor consumed a part of him, and severely impaired his sight. This explains why he sells Black Fomor Scrolls in his shop which are used for the Control of Darkness ability that Dark Knights possess.

I went and ran one of my alts through the Dark Knight questline JUST to verify this information. Most of the information above is complete speculation. Stewart never gives more than a couple of vague hints regarding his past experience with the Dark Knight Armor -- he knows that it's dangerous, he mentions that he knows better than most people how dangerous it can be, and his vision is impaired "because of my insatiable desire to see the order behind the dichotomy this world presents to each and every one of us..." (quoted directly from Stewart's dialog during the questline).

There is no mention anywhere in Stewart's dialog of Dark Knight Disarm (hinted or otherwise), nor of an accident wherein Stewart lost part of his body. There is also no concrete evidence to suggest that Stewart was once a Dark Knight. If anything, the dialog could be interpreted to mean that Stewart fell under some sort of chaotic influence from too much interaction with a piece of the armor, an influence Lassar ultimately helped him be rid of. But the previous sentence, just like the contents of the spoiler box I have removed from this page, is almost entirely speculative and not worth retaining as "factual". Maybe it's true that Stewart was once a Dark Knight, but since we cannot prove that this is the case, we shouldn't regard the information as fact.

I have screenshots of every line of dialog Stewart uses during the Dark Knight questline if further proof is needed.

Infodude, please, for the love of nonexistent deities, stop making edits that suck. I've reverted and cleaned up a number of your edits, and frankly I'm tired of handling your messes for you. I can only imagine how the wiki staff must feel; I'm not nearly as active as some others on this wiki.

You have no idea.

I didn't put that there in the first place, I simply put someone else's spoiler information behind spoiler tags. Please, don't accuse me of starting this mess.

Infodude575 (talk)23:36, 23 November 2013

I really don't care. You should've fact-checked, which is apparently something you rarely do. I actually took the time to verify the information because a friend of mine inquired about Stewart being a Dark Knight -- came here, couldn't believe someone had put such nonsense on the page, and instead of blindly writing off the information as false out-of-hand, I did my due diligence.

Even if this particular mess wasn't your fault initially, there are plenty of others you've made. Learn from your mistakes already -- cleaning up your edits isn't anyone's responsibility but yours. If you can't make decent edits then please don't edit at all. No information is better than bad information.

So this is my fault for not verifying it in the first place? How hurtful, all this negative energy flowing about >.>

I would have changed it if I had known. I should double check NPC pages more. It should be noted that everything in the link is paraphrased and not the actual wording. It includes every little detail...

That is quite some fanfiction there.

Can't access his secret shop

I've given him a dozens of bread and candlesticks and given him gold when he wants the conversation to end, and yet his secret shop still won't open. I've definitely given him more than 30 gifts. Is there something I'm missing? :/

Chisara (talk)20:34, 16 November 2012

Considering that his shop difficulty is 'hard', 30 might not be enough.

Resolved, thanks for your answer though.

I raised his intimacy to the required amount, but before I had forgotten that he doesn't say anything when his secret shop opens, you just go to the "Spellbook" tab and the special items are there. :3
