New Requirement?

I was training my ranged attack rank D and noticed that there was a new requirement. It seems to require only one count and gives 20 points. It's 'receive a powerful attack from a powerful enemy' I believe that I got the training from being hit by a magnum shot from a goblin archer (weak for me). I don't think that this was present in previous ranks, but just to make sure could someone check this? Could someone also check that the new requirement is correct?

Its been there since forever.

Reference: A Note on Aim Speed

Maximum Range:

rF Elf Ranged Attack (100%): 5 seconds

rF Human Ranged Attack (100%): 5 seconds

r1 Elf Ranged Attack (200%): 2.5 seconds

r1 Elf Ranged Attack (200%) w/r1 Final Shot (240%): 1.04 seconds

r1 Human Ranged Attack (300%): 1.67 seconds

r1 Human Ranged Attack (300%) w/r1 Arrow Revolver (50% min accuracy): 0.83 seconds

Magnum Shot (62.5%): 8 seconds

Magnum Shot (62.5%) w/r1 Final Shot (240%): 3.33 seconds

Crash Shot (62.5%): 8 seconds

Crash Shot (62.5%) w/r1 Final Shot (240%): 3.33 seconds

The following skills receive an aim speed bonus from Ranged Attack.

1. Ranged Attack

2. Arrow Revolver

3. Mirage Missile

4. Support Shot

Magnum Shot and Crash Shot are not affected by Ranged Attack.

Distance has an effect on aim speed. Rate of Fire has no effect on aim speed.

This leads me to believe that ranged skills can be divided into two categories.

Range lowering upgrades decrease aim speed?

If the aim speed is dependent on the maximum range as well as bow speed, doesn't that mean that range reducing upgrades will make the bow aim slower? Or does it only count the base range...

Pyroblade12:48, 21 February 2011

yes slower at far range

I don't have the exact base aim formula, but higher max range will increase your aim speed for a given distance. Higher speed will also increase it. The wing bow notably aims faster than any bow while a range- xbow aims very slow (ego wing bow with a china dragon set will shoot every shot of AR at 85% at 2500 range for example, even though it shoots very quickly).

This YouTube Video

A YouTube Video on the Ranged Attack page? The video also specifically shows names, guilds and advertises a website which, as far as I know, is a clear violation of Mabinogi Wiki policy... not to mention that the text is outdated (capped at rank 6? How long has it been since those days?), misspelled in many places and irrelevant in it's entirety. I vote to do away with the video. Seriously, do we need a video to "explain" ranged attack? All any user (giants excluded) need to do is simply equip a bow and click to see this in action for themselves. This would be equal to posting a video explaining how to do a normal attack with a sword/blunt.

I agree that the current video should be taken off, it really doesn't fit with the topic much at all in addition to everything else listed.
