Doppleganger vs Doppelganger

In the game, the skill is spelled "Doppleganger." Even in the description is is spelled with the "le". Should this be moved to that name or kept here?

Kiyoura (talk)17:51, 24 April 2013

Nexon's notorious typos have fked everything up once again.

So the question is now... Should we reflect based on game?

Sori (talk)18:39, 25 April 2013

For things like the name, yes.

Sozen Cratos Focker (talk)19:12, 25 April 2013

Before you go screaming at Nexon's "notorious typos", consider that more people use "doppleganger" than "doppelganger". Including some dictionaries.

Technically, it's spelled "doppelganger", at least according to merriam-webster.

Because of the way things are, just go with "doppleganger" and leave a redirect for the other page.

Doomsday31415 (talk)19:12, 25 April 2013

It's a word of German roots, and doppel means double in German whereas dopple is a typo (or at least an Anglicization of doppel). Unless of course the spelling was different to differentiate between skill/monster.

鍾国豪-BIassreiter (talk)19:19, 25 April 2013

It's like Gray and Grey, Nexon has that usage spread all over the place when it "should" (according to region) be Gray (to be consistent)

Aubog007 (talk)20:16, 25 April 2013

Bump. Doesn't seem like Nexon's going to fix their dumb spelling mistake anytime soon. Should we move it?

We have a redirect, so in either situation, the user will get the correct skill page. Might as well leave it as it is.

Sori (talk)02:57, 1 August 2013

Well you should have the name of the page being the correct name ingame.

Aubog007 (talk)21:27, 1 August 2013

I'm updating my skills box and the name of the page here actually really confused me, since the name is spelt Doppleganger in-game. Could this topic maybe be looked at once more?

♥šεεçrετ♥ (talk)15:20, 21 September 2014

I'd prefer the in-game spelling if possible, but someone could also go make a thread on the nexon bug and glitch forums and post about it to see if they would forward it, if there isn't a thread already.

Hot Air Balloon

When did they change that? Cause I know for certain that I used to use in the balloon, and it was super buggy.

Marith (talk)02:52, 22 August 2013

4-6 weeks ago. I remember reading about how you could use it on hot air balloons and I went to try it,but it did not work.

DANTE20XX (talk)08:25, 22 August 2013

I believe around Nightmare Part 2. They put an untranslated message in its place, but fixed it around Saga.

Infodude575 (talk)09:45, 22 August 2013

Hm, okay. It was always a silly concept.

Marith (talk)12:13, 22 August 2013

Well if you were close enough to spawn, they kill monsters and respawn them immediately on death so you actually were able to kill multiple monsters with 1 doppelganger, regenerate the deaths, and get stars at the same time. So I'm personally glad they disabled it.

Pyro - (Talk)13:43, 22 August 2013

Wait wait wait, how do you kill more than two monsters with just one use of Doppelganger?

Infodude575 (talk)14:19, 22 August 2013

respawn them immediately on death

Oh right, the clones still keep attacking. I never really noticed Doppelganger giving me multiple sets of stars...

Infodude575 (talk)15:36, 22 August 2013

You have to be near their spawn or they'll die then respawn way too far out of range.

Pyro - (Talk)21:00, 22 August 2013

I found it pretty useful, having an alternative method to kill Wyverns.

Infodude575 (talk)13:43, 22 August 2013

Hmmm...>->...

anyways yeah, it was unintentional and people hunting wyverns manage to farm for quite a while due to it.

まそっぷ ! (talk)13:46, 22 August 2013

"...are not collected from enemies defeated by pets..."

When you defeat an enemy with one of the Dragon Dreaths while mounted, is it your finish, or the pet's finish?

Sozen Cratos Focker (talk)13:00, 27 June 2013

# of Clones

FOR SOME REASON you yourself count as a clone. I have Rank 7 Doppelganger (6 clones = 6 souls) and there were only 5 clones.

Infodude575 (talk)17:29, 6 May 2013

...I don't UNDERSTAND *rageface*

I mean...it's not like another "you" exists, though there is the myth that in the same world that there is one other person that is exactly like you, albeit different in a way.

Nexon logic is forever really strange and ridiculous.

Infodude575 (talk)00:11, 7 May 2013

Okay, something is definitely wrong with this skill. I have Rank 5 Doppelganger (7 clones, even says I need 7) and only 6 of me attacked.

Infodude575 (talk)13:37, 12 May 2013

Maybe you're still in that range before soul count increases? I don't know, I left mine at F for utility.

I thought it was established that the table listed number of attacks. Why was it changed back to number of clones?

Appearently you count as a clone...

Kevin, I think the chart is right. Like I said, it asks for 7 souls but there were only 6 of me.

Unless you looked at the files and Nexon made a dumb typo.

Infodude575 (talk)17:13, 12 May 2013

There should be a row that says "Number of Souls required" then if that's the case.

Got it to Rank 4, there are 7 of me now. So I think DevCAT doesn't know the difference between # of Souls and # of Attacks as stated in JP's chart.

Infodude575 (talk)22:34, 14 May 2013

Damage: Remaining Stamina

Shouldn't the -8 stamina from loading be added in there as well?

Infodude575 (talk)11:30, 12 May 2013

No, since it doesn't get calculate. I think we got the short end of the stick because in JP it feels less scaled...

The Tethra sword aplies its def ignore when using this skill??

Aria (talk)00:27, 26 April 2013

If you are attacking, yes. Otherwise I would think the clones themselves attack with the skill's properties. I do not actually own one to thoroughly test.

☽S☆A☆R☆I☆A☾ (talk)00:52, 26 April 2013

I attacked the boss of Fomor Attack with the Rusted Long sword equipped and his protection went down noticeably, so it's safe to say that any properties carried by the weapon (Poison, Elemental, ect..) is also carried by the clones' weapons.

Onionsong (talk)22:18, 26 April 2013

It would need more testing but seems like good info thanks guys :3

Aria (talk)21:24, 5 May 2013

Easiest way to confirm would probably be to use the skill with a Caladbolg.

Sozen Cratos Focker (talk)06:29, 6 May 2013

Because the easiest way would be to obtain a weapon that costs 6x+ more and does not have the same effect.

Hm, i can test using a caladbolg if you wish.

Aubog007 (talk)01:53, 7 May 2013

Why not test with a poison weapon instead? It's a lot easier to get.

Onionsong (talk)10:54, 6 May 2013

Can't really tell if poison is applied twice.

Sozen Cratos Focker (talk)13:00, 6 May 2013

Number of souls collected

Just an observation: rank 2 requires me to collect 8 souls instead of 7 (rank 3's requirement), but only 7 clones are summoned.

Azz (talk)07:43, 28 April 2013

8 souls = 7 clones + yourself.

Kiyoura (talk)11:20, 28 April 2013

How does it work? It says "Clone damage increases", but to what extent?

Infodude575 (talk)21:32, 24 April 2013

Bump.

Infodude575 (talk)22:53, 25 April 2013

Going on a limb, but I think it's percentage based? I'm not quite sure due to the "Stamina Scaling" issue.

☽S☆A☆R☆I☆A☾ (talk)00:16, 26 April 2013

I don't know how damage works, but the min.max on the table that was pulled from shadow bunshin is not right. unless it's like base min/max, cause I hit way more than that.

Ebrithil of Ruari (talk)07:47, 26 April 2013

I think it's base damage, then add w/e bonuses from there.

☽S☆A☆R☆I☆A☾ (talk)08:08, 26 April 2013

I've hit anywhere from 500 (rA 1600 stamina) to 80 (rA 50 stamina). Not sure if the stamina gives flat or % boost to damage though.

Tellos (talk)08:11, 26 April 2013

Probably should ask this, but is this per hit or totaled damage?

☽S☆A☆R☆I☆A☾ (talk)08:13, 26 April 2013

With low stamina, I do around 140 damage per hit at rank F.

Doomsday31415 (talk)09:09, 26 April 2013

Is damage based on the weapon you're wearing?

Infodude575 (talk)09:20, 26 April 2013

I hit around 140 with bare hands with low stamina (Around 25% of max)

☽S☆A☆R☆I☆A☾ (talk)09:27, 26 April 2013

It was per hit. Seems to do the same damage regardless of the weapon I'm using.

Tellos (talk)10:24, 26 April 2013

Differences between this and Bunshin?

^

Infodude575 (talk)11:33, 13 April 2013

It's not a subclass skill in it's native implementation.

Eos367 (talk)12:07, 13 April 2013

This is the KR hybrid skill version of the skill, which has different stats. Like berserk and berserker, only they overwrote the entry of the original entry instead of making a new one. So we archived the old shadow bunshin.

Pyro - (Talk)13:24, 13 April 2013

well i saw small diferences like bunshin worked more like shadow of spirit and dop works automatically and stamina usage is less here but the skill is also non spameable besides that it seem pretty much the same skill.

Aria (talk)00:24, 26 April 2013

It got rebalanced in JP and no longer functions as it used to. All skill ranks were retained on update back in March 2013 for JP, AP cost increased, Usable at Novice rank, and (This is the big one) Stamina no longer affects damage.

☽S☆A☆R☆I☆A☾ (talk)00:29, 26 April 2013

i see well then its just that we got the final prototype then, like the Arrow revolver of mari at g1 it changed till it became what it is today.

Aria (talk)00:39, 26 April 2013

I see it more of a v2.0. Japan had to refit it to work with the update and so did TW.
