Normal is the one in Sliab Cuilin and can use Soul Absorption, yes? I cleared that yesterday but I didn't get the skill.

In the same run I instead learned Giving Heart, so maybe that conflicted?

Not sure if that's the case...I think I've unlocked 2 from one run on easy, but I'm not 100% sure... However, there might be a restriction on it, but I wouldn't know because i haven't yet done normal or hard.

Normal is in Sliab Cuilin, hard is in Sen Mag. I unlocked mine with the solo mission.

I unlocked the majority of my subskills in solo as well. I'm pretty sure I got Giving Heart and Sinful Thorns in one run where I decided to not use any crusader skills.

Having cleared it on Normal and Hard, I have yet to see the skill unlocked.

Did you get the finish? Maybe you need the finish.

Coming back to this after a year, and this time actually got the finish. Still didnd't get the sub-skill.

I wonder if you need to be the Squad Captain to get it?

Might be a glitch. I've already reported that I did normal and I did not get it.
