Page name

This page should be renamed. Weight is not your appearance, but the amount you weight. Or noun, a weight. Someone suggest a correct rewording? --Kevin Talk«) 08:33, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Physical Attributes--Hengsheng120 09:08, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

The game actually internally refers to it as "fatness", but that is even less appropriate. I'd suggest Body Dimensions. Or maybe just Body Size. KisaiTenshi 03:25, 03 August 2009(UTC)

Has there been an agreed name change yet? The current is extremely misleading for when people may be in fact looking for the current "Character"(appearance sub-section) page. Or perhaps merge Appearance into Character? Health 08:48, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

Images

The black clothes doesn't give an accurate representation of body appearance, as one loses details because its black. I think it would be beneficial to have all pictures done for this page in the nude, as well as several more images (ie. top-heavy, bottom-heavy, all muscle and no fat, and male versions of all of these) -- Ladywinter 10:18, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

For some reason, this makes me want to post a picture of one of my friends after the Cookie Tree event... BladeBlade 14:12, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

I actually have a set of images superimposed over each other for this, however I changed my mind about posting them since it's extremely misleading. There are 3 different standing still poses, plus a "inhaled" and "exhaled" position, so it would take a lot more time to actually get representative images. I did this with cheese (lower) and milk (upper), which is where the description on the food list page came from. Each clothing (hence character model) is different, so what is 66% larger on the leather drandros armor (which is basically the unclothed model with some extra pieces tacked on) isn't on the Arish. The newbie wear doesn't show "being fat" as much as wearing a robe does. With the current event with the swimsuits, someone should use that as a reference point on a fresh RB if they want to take a crack at it. KisaiTenshi 23:08, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

I used the generator and made an animated picture of a female character's body. Ones 0% upper/lower/weight, ones 100% upper, ones %100 lower, and one is 100% weight. -Here- ─┤Hakumei} 22:46, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Food Stats

What happened to the old page that displayed the best meals to temporarily increase a certain stat? was it removed? If so why? i remember that Foods list has a link to it, but it takes me to appearences. --Occy

Losing stats

In this article it says that food has no bearing on stats except for those temporarily gained by eating 5-star food. I'd like to kindly contradict that by telling everyone I had a character eating nothing but strawberries for a very long time. After about a month, occasionally the message for weight loss appeared, but rather than get thinner, I lost strength. I'd post a screenshot of the -strength message, but on that character I ate a few pieces of meat to restore my strength (Which I believe worked, but it's not confirmed). I plan on re-testing this with my current character, by eating nothing but strawberries until messages for -stats start appearing. However, if someone already has a screenshot/confirmation of this occurrence then please add your comments/screenshots to this discussion. Insanity to all ~<3 07:38, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

I want to further push this point, too. Because when I was a newb character, before paladin, all I ever did was eat food to keep my hunger up. After eating a few sliced meats, and even cheese, I got a message literally saying "I feel a bit stronger. (STR+1)." And my base STR state rose by that amount. So can we remove that part of the wiki until it's actually -proven-? Because food can give and lose stats if you are a food person.--Ashe 03:38, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
Maybe I'm blind but I don't see this mentioned in the article. All I see is "weight has no bearing on the character's stats. It is the food eaten that affects the stats" and this statement is true. Maybe it could be rewritten or explained better though. --- Angevon (Talk) 03:59, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

Body Scale

There is a way to tell what your current weight is, but it's too technical to explain. The game keeps an internal number between 1.0 and 1.8 for fatness (at least when used with the hot spring), upper strength, lower strength. This number is simply a "scale" and each model is affected differently. Up until the Hot Springs it was not possible to get a minimum or maximum without spending a lot of time spamming food. If you spend just over an hour in any of the pools, you will be at either the minimum or maximum for that weight. It may now be possible to get a proper food scale. The food effects are listed in their game client files (including cooked foods), but have no reference point as to how much they affect the scale number.

Okay looks like there is still a random variable for food. I had 13 berries. When I started I had 1.00W 1.80U 1.00L After the last berry I was at 0.70W 1.45U 0.81L , So it appears that the food effects are not a guaranteed thing(Berry is Body -2, Upper -2 ,Lower -1 but maybe it depends on how hungry you are. The first berry was at 50%, where as the last few were at nearly full without going over.)
1.00 1.80 1.00
1.00 1.70 1.00
1.00 1.67 1.00
0.94 1.64 0.97
0.89 1.62 0.97
0.83 1.59 0.94 (Rain)
0.78 1.56 0.92 (Rain)
0.78 1.56 0.89 (Rain)
0.78 1.56 0.86
0.78 1.53 0.83
0.75 1.53 0.83
0.70 1.51 0.83
0.70 1.45 0.81

Post rebirth, I was able to hit 0.70 0.70 0.70 using berries/coconuts, so it appears this is the lowest you can go.KisaiTenshi 10:01, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

Incoming Update to this page, http://mabinogi.nexon.net/FunStuff/BeautySalon.aspx uses the same information that is sent when you change channels, so it's possible to now see the minimum and maximum appearances of any clothing in the web utility exactly as it is in the game KisaiTenshi 04:49, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Re: Body Scale

Is there any more information on how this works? There doesn't seem to be any way to interpret the meaning of a food's affect on appearance stats in relation to the number describing your body size.

Would be nice to be able to calculate how many of a food item you'd need to get a certain amount of change.

Also, since that update, do you always gain weight if you eat when full? I guess you used to still gain weight if you ate a berry or somesuch when full, so that may be a silly question.

Just kicking this discussion up again i would like to try too figure this out because i noticed this during beta and have at least mastered how to build a big strong warrior character. But i would like too reopen this for discussion. I will also be posting on the official forum and linking this page to it for other to come explore.

Changing Channel

Does changing channel or logging off affect food affects? More specifically will the body-changes take place if or when you change channel? Not sure how this goes. --\(°∀°)/ 11:57, 30 November 2010 (PST)

\(°∀°)/11:57, 30 November 2010

(lets see if the wiki lets me add this time) Changing the channel only affects the temporary stats (they'll be canceled.) Weight change is not affected by channel change, as the server records it immediately. If you spam food you'll get to "fat" appearance almost immediately, although you won't see the message for a minute or two.
